Eunice Lee has lived in New York City most her life. A Parsons School of Design Graduate, she spent 6 years designing for large corporations. Lee spent most of that time working at DKNY Mens where she started as a design assistant and was quickly promoted to designer. Her experience at DKNY helped to lay the foundation for her next challenge – creating her own collection. Eunice envisioned her collection as great basics and classic silhouettes, with a New York City-inspired edge. She opened the retail store in November 2000, debuting her Spring 2000 men’s collection. In 2003 Lee introduced a women’s collection to complement her already successful men’s line. She began by first downsizing men’s pieces for women and has continued to expand the collection since. Unis would become one of the first stores to define the trendy downtown New York neighborhood, Nolita.
Unis creates a unique modern take on American sportswear that stands out from the standard classics. Vintage military and work wear details are incorporated throughout the mens and womens collections. The key to the Unis aesthetic is the downtown lifestyle, neighbors and customers that surround Unis.
